Final Four 2023 Begins!

In the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four matches, Barcelona will host Real Madrid on the evening of May 19th, at the Zalgirio Arena. 

Barcelona hosted Zalgiris Kaunas in the 3rd EuroLeague play-off match. With their victory against Zalgiris, they won all 3 play-off games and got the Final Four ticket. In the first match, the Catalan side won 91-69 and 89-81 in the second. In the third and last game, Barcelona played against Zalgiris. Playing with an effective defence strategy, they left the court with a 66-77 win. 

In the Zalgiris fight, Jan Vesely and Tomas Satoransky were the two outstanding names of the effective defence play of Barcelona. Tomas Satoransky, also the top-scoring player of the game, had 14 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists. Jan Vesely produced 14 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists; Mike Tobey made 12 points and 3 rebounds; Nikola Mirotic had 9 points and 3 rebounds; Alex Abrines contributed with 9 points and 3 assists; Rokas Jokubaitis finished the game with 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. 

Barcelona have 23 wins in 34 matches in the EuroLeague this season. 

Real Madrid faced Partizan in the play-offs. As both teams had 2 wins and 2 losses in the matches, the team that will compete in the Final Four was determined by the decisive 5th match. 

Real Madrid became the first team in EuroLeague history to qualify for the Final Four, coming from behind 2-0 in the play-offs and then changing the course of the series, making it 3-2.
